"Savior" is the first independent videogame created entirely in Cuba. It is an animated 2D platformer that utilizes timing mechanics and other experimental elements more similar to non-games and other less commercial aspects of videogames.
The story begins when your protagonist, a "Little God," awakes a strange dream to discover that his world is disappearing. From here begins a frantic search through eight levels, where you try at any cost to find the Creator of the Universe, "The Great God," with the sole purpose of saving your home. But on your way, you very soon discover that you are but an character in an unfinished story, and all the reality around you is only a segment of a colossal game is beginning to collapse.
On this idea, that reality is nothing but a fiction, "Savior" creates an experience where the user will be constantly faced with atypical and surprising situations. We wish to give players the most personal and emotional game possible, and every day we’re working hard at the completion of this project.
Josuhe H. Pagliery (1981, Havana, Cuba) Director, art designer and screenwriter of Savior. I graduated in Fines Arts from the Academia de Bellas Artes “San Alejandro” and the Universidad de las artes I.S.A. I have experience as an animator and founded and directed the performance group "Golden Theory Popeye" from 2003-2013. I participated in personal and collective exhibitions both in Cuba and the US, as well as Canada, Germany and Spain, among other countries. For several years my work has been focused on video games, although in the past they have been more artistic and experimentation, including "Destroyer" which was presented twelfth Bienal de la Habana. I have always felt a great interest and respect for the video game medium and earnestly want Cuban artist to be part of this global, cultural phenomenon of undeniable importance. My favorite games include: Final Fantasy VI, Super Castlevania 4 Shadow of the Colossus and Demon Soul.
Johann H. Armenteros (1986, Havana, Cuba), programmer of Savior. I am a graduate of Computer Science from the University of Havana. I have experience in web development and the creation of videogames. I’ve worked as a programmer on smaller, experimental games, like "Destroyer" with Josuhe Pagliery. I have great interest in this industry as a programmer and am very interested in the possibility of creating an independent videogame for the first time in my country. Some of my favorite games are: Bioshock, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy and The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap.
